why am I so stubborn?

we had planned to have my daughter her husband and friends come down to the lake this weekend. BUT....we had one thing that had to be done prior to being able to enjoy the day. We moved recently and still had a baby grand piano at the old house that we needed help to move. so, we scheduled my daughter husband and friends to just "stop" by the house to help us move the piano and then they were supposed to be able to be on their way. well, we could not get a truck to move it with from u-haul there were none available in all of Anderson, SC. Can you believe that. so we asked mom and dad if we could use theirs. oh good we got a truck, or so we thought. Dad started out with the truck and trailer and had a flat. He had to go back home to fix it. He could not get the lug nuts off the wheel. So Ross my son drives 20 minutes to their home to change the tire. He gets one tire changed and dad tells him there is another tire with wire showing and needs to change another. Ross tries but cannot get the lug nuts off this tire. So much for using dads truck. The gentleman who is renting our old home tells us we can use his truck. Finally a truck. The boys load the piano on the borrowed truck and off we go from Anderson to Fairplay after oh, I dont know...HOURS. hooray. But what a frustrating situation. If I would have listened to my husband and rented a truck maybe all this would not have happened. No, I wanted to save money. Sometimes its best just to bite the bullet and do what needs to be done. All this frustration and aggravation may have be avoided if I would not have been so stubborn. Help, me Lord to do what needs to be done and not be so stubborn.

Time it has a way of ticking by

I am telling you time flies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I was posting something the other day and it required me to give my date of birth. So, I entered in the date. It quickly calculated that I was 51. WHAT the... i said, I'm not 51. I'm 50, oh...gee I am 51. How did that happen? I hated that darn calculator. Something has happened inside of me, I don't want any more time slipping away from me, no more forgetting birthdays and anniversaries. No more putting "things" first and letting what is important go. Yes, time is ticking and we all have the same amount of time each day to make choices, I want to make the most of it don't you?

Tuesday 12-16-08

We had our christmas party at work today and they let us off early. I am soooo glad because I have so much to do. I have many follow ups to make. But, let me tell you what I did last night. I had a blanket I needed to get washed and took it to the laundry mat. I spoke with several ladies there and got their information. Then, I received a call back from the local ad I placed and the gentleman I spoke with on the phone said his computer had crashed but he was going to get it back up and running and look at the sight. Today, I also spoke with a young lady who gave me her information. I have met numerous people and one was last night that dont have internet, but know someone that has a computer, so I still give them the information. I want this opportunity to be available to all. monday 12-15-08

well, friday after work I had to go meet my husband who is a fedex driver and I walked around at Ingles but it was freezing cold so I did not speak to anyone. I did however, stop to get gas and met one contact at the gas station who gave me his information.

Then, I went to empty the trash out of my car and gave a flyer to a gentleman at the car wash site but he would not give me his information.

I did sign up a business mall member Friday. And made numerous follow up calls which resulted in several people saying they would like to look at it some more.

Also, I had one gentleman tell me it looked like something he wanted to do but could not take the time to sign up when I spoke with him.

I also called a few people just randomly from the phone book with a script that I wrote. I am profecting this. I was able to speak to several people. One said she would probably be interested in hearing more about how she could earn some money from home but did not have access to a computer. Another gentleman would not give his email address to me, but I'm gonna work on this type of cold contact.


I also spoke with a friend of mine who I think gave me two contacts to get signed up. Hey, I take referrals. I stopped at a casual acquantances of mine home and gave her a flyer and she gave me her email address and phone number. I also, had several more calls from my ad. Have a blessed day. Tonight is Panera Bread night, must rescue the bread they will not use and take it to the rehab center tomorrow.

friday 12-12-08

Last night I followed up with 2 people after 9pm because they asked me to. One answered the phone one did not, but he left me a voice message later stating he did not hear his phone-since it was after 10pm I did not call him back that late. I will f/u this evening with him. However, the one gentleman that I spoke with was very nice I would love to have him on my team. He is a hard worker and is looking for something to possibly at some point replace his income. His problem is he works long hours and does not know when he would have time to build the business. He went to the web site while we were on the phone since he had not had time to look at it yet and then he said he would think about it. The lady I spoke with last night told me the same she would think about it. But I did have one guy sign up as a business mall member last night yeah! He was ready as soon as we went through the information on the website together. I have not made any contacts today yet since I have not left work-but when I go out the door I hope too. More on Monday have a great weekend.

work again today. I was able to take my lunch and put together some business information to get ready for the partnership program. I havent left work yet, but wanted to go ahead and send my report and blog so i could get it done for today even though i've only spoken to one contact. but.......it was the best contact ever. i called him because he answered my local ad. He pulled the site up and looked at it while i was on the phone "now thats what i'm talkin about". He had to go do something, but said for me to call back in 30 minutes because he wanted to sign up. then...after I hung up with him and turned in my report I had another person call me answering the ad..hey, this local ad is doing well, anyway I offered for her to go on line and let me walk her through it (it worked last time) and guess what she said call her back in 15 minutes and she would get on line and we could do it together. Maybe, this is a good thing. I know its a good thing, seems we meet so many busy folks. When people will go out of their busy way and take time to look at our presentation-those are people I would like to team up with.

We had our first call with Jacki last night-It was very nice to finally get to meet some folks and not feel like I'm doing this all by myself. I have been reading blogs and I know I'm not by myself, but talking to people makes a big difference.

oh, well, I cant blog too long gotta go call my contact back, hey maybe I'll get two sign ups in one night-that would be awesome. Until tomorrow.....

december 10 2008

before I got to work this morning I got a call from someone interested in finding out about the work from home ad I placed. Her name was pam I gave her the web site to go to and she gave me her email address and phone number to follow up with her in a few days. she says she doesnt get home from work until late so she would not be able to look at right away. I have sooooo many follow ups that I need to make and church is tonight. and the alternates have a call yeah. well, one contact is better than none. oh wait theres another message on my phone from jennifer she wants information about the ad-boo I called her she does not have a computer. i learned my lesson about placing ads. I forgot when I placed it to say you must have a computer and phone I have had sooooo many calls from folks with no computer just wasting their time and mine-we live and learn. hey there are two more calls on my phone ah, neither of them are available. my biggest struggle seems to be follow up i seem to see that is some of the other bloggers problems as well. we gotta learn the art of follow up.
